HomeHi, This week I learned that people asking me what I want is a trigger because I wasn't asked what I wanted for 10 years by the narcissist. It is frustrating to not be able to answer a question. I have to think about it and even then I do not generate an answer often times. I feel like I have to get to know myself. Is this common?

How are they asking it? I noticed that that triggers me, when they yell "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" I've been seeking mental health counseling, and I'm at a counseling office. To me, it seems fairly obvious what I want. Or after I ask a favor from a narcissist, like "Can you get my jacket?" then they yell "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" well... I could repeat myself, but I think that's the narc's way of saying no. What do I want? For everything to not result in a fight, and I want people to do their job. Simple Simon.
