Over reading recent communication

I would like some feedback on a recent text I received from someone as my reaction as that this person is heartless. Here it is "Too bad that we didn't take advantage of each other when we were neighbors."
"Take advantage of"? Is this someone from planet Narc?

Hi Jake,

There is a lot of information that one need to be able to say if someone has strong narcissistic tendencies. Do you know them for a long time? What makes you think that they are heartless?

To take advantage of someone is of course a horrible thing, however, perhaps the person has difficulties communicating and is trying to convey something else?
