Even when you know which tactic is being used in the conversation its still difficult to not be sucked into the vortex that is created and end up with your state shifting just the way they want it to. The more they can spin you, frustrate you, escalate the conversation into something heated and completely off topic the happier they are. They laugh when they know they've accomplished that. I have to remind myself to go back to the broken record routine. "Return the wrench you borrowed,.. return the wrench you borrowed."
At least today I'm not shaken, not rattled, just very aware of how toddler like he is. But its still irritating that everyone else thinks he poops rose petals.
